With the offer** now comes the negotiation. Internships and entry-level offers can be typically standard/boilerplate. There are areas to negotiate and just having someone to be with you during that process can be very helpful. For experienced people / having some work experience, there is will wiggle room for negotiating a number of things. There is also common sense. Lots of information on the Internet about the dos and don’ts of salary negotiation.

It's actually a lot of people who say that to yourself.

Every day so to say to themselves is to die at the starting point. In fact, any interviewer has had this experience is not enough, but need to find a job.

Seize the opportunity, come on.

Sichuan province is the home of Mount Emei, one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. Visitors to the mountain will likely see dozens of Tibetan macaques, who can often be viewed taking food from tourists. Due to the Wuhan coronavirus situation, the tourists have stopped coming.

These are some hungry monkeys.

Can I share about my inner critic? Self-criticism played a role in my progress in school. It was like my “insurance policy”. As long as I was hard on myself, I felt I could progress. How about you? Today, for many of us, progress means a great internship / offer. That I define as the following, a job that:

appreciates your work,
challenges you
honors what you’ve learned
offers competitive compensation.

Could it happen at firms where my students are getting offers (MBB, JPM, F500 etc)?

Yes.

Are there thousands of firms and good bosses out there that also can fit the bill?

Yes.

But while we are updating about the status of the Wuhan situation, consider whether this inner critic is a “virus” that may be affecting and debilitating you, and could cause failure to launch.

If you want other people to conclude you are good / enough / 行, you need to conclude yourself that you are good / enough / 行.

Check if you go about your day saying that you are not good /...

The Chinese side of my family is from Wuhan. This is a photo at Moshan (磨山) one of my favorite places at the East Lake (东湖). Normally we would go to Wuhan in the summer. I know that sounds crazy because it’s hot, but that is when our Chinese Joint Ventures (our kids) have their school holiday.

We think about Wuhan all the time. We hope you and your family members are well.

Spring recruiting in China is suspended - as I hear from recent graduates in Beijing.
